Pyre Crux

~I'm everything you've wanted
I am the one who's haunting you
I am the eyes inside of you
Stare back at you

There's nothing left to lose
There's nothing left to prove
Surrender your love
It's all you can do~

~Chapter 1: Your Savoir~

I sat in my desk, tapping my pencil to a tune stuck in my head.

3 more minutes.

Class was dragging by slowly, and it didn’t help my stomach, which growled in annoyance. It’s almost lunch. I looked around the class, seeing if anyone was working. Nope. Everyone was talking, or doodling. Some were listening to music or texting. Our teacher has been sick the past couple of days and our substitute cannot control the class. It’s pathetic.

Turning my head downwards, I finished drawing on the sheet. Crimson locks fell in my face, hiding my acid green eyes.  I glanced at the clock.

2 more minutes.

I grabbed the sheet and stuffed it into my black messenger bag. Hopefully the teacher won’t be collecting it. No one’s been working on it, but I’d rather not chance my mark on it.

The loud chatter of students was silenced as the sky rumbled. A flash of lightning lit up the room, causing the white walls to be even brighter.

I glanced over at the window. Black iron swirled around the edges, thinning into dividers for the glass. The sky was dark, almost black, and trees are being thrown around by the wind. Great, I thought to myself miserably. A storms coming.

BBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG

I jumped out of my seat, joining the herd of teens in the hall. Unlike the classrooms the hallway is very colourful. The walls are white but the lockers are different shades of blue, purple and green. They really make the place look better.

I walked into the cafeteria, which is also all white, and found a secluded table. Sitting down I pulled out my lunch and began to eat. Chocolate chip cookies and a ham sandwich. Yum.

PIT PIT PLAT

I looked towards the sound. A window was next to me, and small oval pellets of water was pelting it.

“Oh joy. More assault for my hair.” I muttered, placing a chunk of a cookie in my mouth.

“VERAX!” a super happy voice rang out, as I was glomped.

I coughed, choking on my cookie.

“Myxa! Don’t do that!” I wheezed at the cheerful blond.

Said blond sat beside me, taking one of my cookies.

He’s rather tall with blue eyes and dirty blond and red hair, styled in what would be described as the bastard child of a faux hawk and a mullet. He’s crazy cheerful and really hyper. His parents are major control freaks so he’s been rebelling allot lately. They hate piercings, so he’s had quite a few done recently. So far he has his left eye brow pierced, two piercings in his right ear, and his lip pierced with a chain connecting to his right ear.  He also likes music and has a music note pendant attached to a choke collar around his neck. Today he’s wearing a long sleeved black shirt with various rips in it, with a swirling water design travelling up each sleeve.  Myxa is a bit odd, but we’ve been great friends since kindergarten.

“But it’s fun.” He replied, stuffing his face.

I glared at him. He may be my best friend, but no one eats my cookies.

Grabbing the bag, I pulled it away. “Here. Eat an apple.” I said, tossing him the misshapen fruit.

“Verax, you’re so mean!” He pouted, but began eating it anyway.

I went to eat another cookie, but a hand grabbed it from me.

“Thanks sunshine.” A husky voice whispered in my ear.

I glowered. “Isn’t it too early for this torture?”

The person chuckled, taking the other free seat beside me.

He was taller than me, with short light blond hair spiked into a faux hawk. He has mischievous blue eyes and a dashing smile, with a small blond goatee on his chin. His name’s Malcome and he’s one of the most popular kids in school, and also the most flirtatious. He can become friends with anyone, easily pushing aside differences. It’s like he’s controlling their thoughts.

He’s been bugging me allot lately. I definitely don’t like the extra attention. People glare at me
whenever were together.

After devouring my cookie, he regarded me cooly.

“What are you wearing?” he asked, eyes travelling my lithe frame.

“Uhhh” I looked down at myself. I wore a long sleeved black shirt with chakram designs on the sleeves that trail upwards, connecting to a fiery heart on my chest.  My choker has an ‘x’ shaped pendant on it, and I also wore black jeans. “Clothes?” I replied, not knowing what to say.

He laughed. “You wear too much black” He started. “You should wear more green; it would compliment your hair.” As he said this he fingered one of my spiked crimson locks.

I growled, brushing his had away.

“Green would blend with my eyes, and I’ll look like a Christmas tree.”

He laughed at my statement ruffling my hair.

“Noooooooo.” I whined, pushing him away. Why must people always touch my hair?

“Malcomeeeeeeee” Myxa pouted beside me. “Pass me a cookieeeeeeee.”

Malcome took two cookies out and tossed them to Myxa, who munched on them happily.

“Your boyfriends nicer than you are Verax.”

I stared at Myxa. Oh hell no. He thinks I’m with stupid. “He. Is not. My boyfriend.” I hissed through my teeth.

Myxa stared back. “But he’s so...clingy.”

“Wha-” I went to say but was silenced by the bell.

Students got up, slowly making their way into the hall.

Myxa got up and left, muttering a quick goodbye before leaving. His locker’s on the other side of the school, and he takes forever to get there.

As I went to stand two arms intertwined my waist.

“Stay awhile sunshine. We both have spares, so let’s talk.”

I face planted the table.

This is going to be a long day.

XXXXXXX

4 Hours later....

XXXXXXX

I opened the black front door to my house, throwing my bag to the ground. Slipping off my black converse high tops, I trudged down the dark hall and turned into the first room.

A cough sat centered to a T.V.  in the light green walled room, cluttered cabinets lining the walls.

I sighed, flopping down onto the leather couch. Grabbing the remote I turned the T.V. on.

Nothing.

I tried three more times before turning to a lamp on a side table and flicking the light switch.

Again, nothing.

I groaned. Great. I’m stuck at home alone without power. Just wonderful. I won’t even be able to check the weather and see if this storm will end anytime soon.

I got off the couch and walked into the kitchen. Opening the freezer, I grabbed a blue Popsicle and sucked on it, watching the rain out the window. Lightning danced across the sky, lighting up the room.

As I went to throw the stick away, a shadow flickered across the room.

I froze. I stared at the spot a moment longer, willing it to move again, but it didn’t. I must be hallucinating, I thought to myself. I dropped the stick in the trash, moving to get another Popsicle, when I sat it again. This time, the shadow was on the fridge. It’s up to my shoulders in height, and looks like a person. Slowly, it moved back and forth across the fridge.  I walked closer to it and it slid sideways, towards the basement.

Don’t follow it. It’s ok. Mom should be home soon. The house is empty. Everything’s fine. I repeated this chant in my head, backing toward the kitchen entrance.

BZZZTTTTT

My cell went off down the hall, its familiar annoying ring like music to my ears. I ran down the hall, rummaging through my bag.

Ah ha, found you.

I flipped open the glossy black phone. “Hello?” I asked it.

“Hey there sunshine” an overly cheerful voice answered back.

“Oh hell no” I groaned. “I’m too young to have a stalker!”

“I haven’t even begun to stalk you yet!” The voice laughed, clearly amused.

“How’d you get my number Malcome?”

He chuckled. “Your little friend Myxa was happy to give it to me.”

My mouth fell open. “MYXA DID WHAT?!”

Malcome laughed harder. “Don’t worry sunshine; you can contemplate killing him after we eat.”

“What do you mean WE?” I asked, shocked.

He laughed again. “Don’t worry; I’ll be at your place in five.”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘BE AT MY PLACE’?” I shouted. “HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE I LIVE?”

The line went dead.

Great. Just peachy. I can either stay here in the dark with a shadow monster, or go with creepy boy to dinner.

As I sat in the hall deciding, the air around me went cold. I turned my head, glancing behind me.

Nothing.

HONK!

Startled, I whipped around. Light flooded the entrance. Malcome was here.

You win.

I got up, threw on my coat and went outside, locking the door behind me.

Turning, I couldn’t help but stare at Malcome’s car. It’s a red mustang. WOW. That’s nice. I thought to myself as I climbed inside.

“You like it?”

I nodded, dumbfounded.

“Good. Let’s go.”

As we drove off through the rain, all I could think of was the ominous shadow lurking in my house. I prayed that it would be gone upon my return.

If only I knew how wrong I was.
This is the first chapter to a story I'm writing about my characters. It's different than the actual manga, but if you want to see the characters see here: [link]
If there's a certain character/pairing you'd like to see let me know~

Pyre Crux = Fire Core
This story is shonnen-ai-ish and theyre maybe yaoi in later chapters.

I hope the tense shifting and grammer's ok, I'm pretty bad with those. I may be editing this since da's text entering thing is confusing.

The picture's kinda crappy, since I didnt draw it in photoshop.
